Snowsuit Winter-boot Silence

Denise Pawliuk

The door opens and

cold air rushes at my cheeks.

Over the threshold

I walk in snowsuit

winter-boot silence. Around

me mounds of shoveled

verigated snow.

Underfoot snowflake litter.

Everywhere. Silence.

I could remain here.

Until the warm sun melts me.

Revealing my spring.
